I enjoyed this slightly mournful comedy about the relationship between a teacher (who is now dead by his own hand) and his misfit, alternative high school kind of students. I enjoyed this slightly mournful comedy about the relationship between a teacher (who is now dead by his own hand) and his misfit, alternative high school kind of students. Steve Coogan is a reporter in the town that Krista Mccoulough is from when she went up in the Challenger (only to end in tragedy--which everyone who watches it knows)--he knows the dead teacher, and as the Challenger gets delayed in take off day after day (remember, the O-ring failed after all the freezing and thawing), and he gets deeper and deeper into the teacher's life and the life of the kids. Amidst all of it, he also is about to get a Pullitzer for a series of stories he did about someone he portrayed as "heroic" but who actually died by her own hand. Very introspective and while no one is likealbe, there are alot of recognizable people. I thought it was entertaining, as well as true to life. (show less)

Grindhouse is beyond the boundries, it's gritty, funny, sexy, gory and it's one hell of a 'bloody' ride. The two film artists behind Grindhouse are Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez as they btoh take part in making a double feature bringing back what was left back at the time where the cinemas in the ghetto where around.
The two films that are featured in Grindhouse are Robert Rodriguez's zombie tribute film Planet Terror, and Quentin Tarantino's slasher Death Proof. Besides the actual feature films. Once you put in the dvd for let's just say Planet Terror and press Play Movie, it will actually look like a real grindhouse exploitation film. It's similar to when you enter the cinema and see the previews of other films.
Grindhouse also shows the trailer before Planet Terror starts and the Trailer is called Machette (which is set to be produced as a real film). After the trailer of Machette it says 'Rated X' which is a big revived cliche which describes a violent movie in grindhouse terms. The grindhouse films both look like exploitation films with the aging (marks, scratches spots, melting film).

For those who like gore, sexy women and zombies, Grindhouse is your ticket for a night out, it's a true experiance, it makes you shiver and it makes you cringe and you will love it!
Escape normal cinema and get into Gindhouse! It's two top-notch films for the price of one!

Robert Rodiguez's Planet Terror

Planet terror is really the first zombie film I want to see and it makes me want to see more zombie films. Planet Terror is a true exploitation film with blood, gore, brains, and sexiness. Planet Terror is about a go go dancer named Cherry Darling (Rose McGowan) who get's her right leg eaten by the mutated beasts known as the Sickos (Zombies). Cherry and her true love El Wray (Freddie Rodriguez)along with others try to survive and end the Sicko horde with Cherry's Machine Gun leg.

Planet Terror Involved a lot of gore, such as a polcie officer being pulled apart, Fergie with no brain, decapitation and blood etc..

I liked the film but what I didn't like was that people might think that Cherry and her Machine Gun leg, but whats dissapointing is that she only has the gun for only four chapters till the end.

Planet Terror is a good film and I would recommend it. (show less)
