I put this movie on to pass the time while doing something mind-numbling at the same time. I was pleasantly surprised. The movie was based on a novel by a Hong Kong author ("If time can be turned back").

I put this movie on to pass the time while doing something mind-numbling at the same time. I was pleasantly surprised. The movie was based on a novel by a Hong Kong author ("If time can be turned back").

The theme song of the movie is "As time goes by". How ironic is that, huh? The word "ironic" is the main thing in this piece. It's simply made, about a topic that should be quite complicated: time travelling. I always get headaches about consequences and stuff.

There was also a very unexpected twist towards the end of the movie, which put a perfect closure to the whole story, allowing the main character to move on. There's a happy ending that I'm very fond of, which is rare, cos strangely I'm not a big fan of happy endings. They usually are quite forced, or too perfect, which would feel like mocking the audience: building up the feelings and angst but then shove you on a fluffy happy-happy-joy-joy ending.

Gr8 movie.. But then most people would have told that to you.. The special effects, as anyone who has seen it knows is superb.. The 3D experience was a bonus too.. I am usually not a gr8 fan of war and action movies.. I love the action but I need a plot as an incentive to continue watching a movie for 3 hours and this is what really clinched the deal for me in case of Avatar. The subtle but everpresent commentary on world politics, MNCs and the changing ethics and moral values of today's world added that extra dimension to it. The story made it a worth to watch movie.. The cast and their acting was good too.. No wonder critics and box office have gone totally gaga over it.. I am totally pitching for its win in the Oscars.. (show less)
